Augustine, la mère de Norbert Zongo, n’oubliera pas de sitôt l’acte louable des artistes-musiciens burkinabè et de la sous-région regroupés sous le nom d’Artistes unis pour Norbert Zongo. La cause : après avoir posé leurs voix dans l’album « Norbert Zongo : dossier classé ? », les chanteurs ont présenté ladite œuvre à la presse devant le domicile des Zongo au secteur 6 de Koudougou. C’était le samedi 29 novembre 2008.

Augustine pose son regard sur le CD qu’elle tient, tout en faisant passer plusieurs fois ses doigts sur l’effigie de son fils, les flashs des appareils des journalistes crépitent, perturbant un tant soit peu sa concentration. A ses côtés, la tête toujours baissée, la mère d’Ernest Zongo, un des 3 compagnons de route qui a péri le 13 décembre 1998 avec le directeur de publication du journal L’Indépendant et Robert, petit frère de Norbert.

Le présidium de la rencontre, sous la houlette du président du centre national de presse Norbert-Zongo (CNP-NZ), Justin Coulibaly, était composé de Luc Damiba de l’association Semfilms et de musiciens qui ont participé à la réalisation de l’album : Smockey, Didier Awadi du Sénégal, Samsk le Jah, Sana Bob, Obscur Jaffar, Slam. Ticken Jah Fakoly, Ismaël Isaac de Côte d’Ivoire, Faso Kombat, Zêdess, Miss Safia du Niger, Natremy et la Chorale du Collectif, qui ont également participé activement à cette œuvre, n’ont pas pu faire le déplacement à Koudougou.

Après avoir observé, comme les autres, une minute de silence à la mémoire des suppliciés de Sapouy, Justin Coulibaly s’est réjoui que d’autres forces s’associent à la lutte du Collectif pour que la lumière soit faite sur l’assassinat de Norbert et de ses compagnons. Pour lui, 10 ans, c’est trop. Et d’ajouter qu’on peut tuer un journaliste, un artiste, mais jamais ses œuvres ; c’est pourquoi il a loué l’engagement des artistes-musiciens au présent projet destiné à marquer le 10e anniversaire de l’assassinat du journaliste.

En effet, le CNP-NZ et l’Association Semfilms, en collaboration avec les Studios Abazon, ont décidé de la réalisation de cet album de 8 titres en hommage à Norbert Zongo et de plaider pour que justice lui soit rendue. Outre le titre « 10 ans d’impunité », portant la griffe du groupe, on retrouve « Mon crime » de Zêdess ; « Borry Bana » de Sam’sk le Jah ; « Les fruits de la lutte pour une vie », une composition inédite de Smockey ; « Crime à Sapouy » de la Chorale du Collectif ; « Hommage à Norbert Zongo » de Natremy ; « Norbert Zongo vous parle ! », un extrait de certaines communications du défunt. Quant au remix des « 10 ans d’impunité », il est un cocktail d’interventions de personnalités burkinabè et étrangères.

Textes engagés, musiques bien arrangées, pour la plupart par le rappeur, Smockey, l’album est de belle facture, lui donnant toutes les chances de connaître un bel avenir. Le porte-parole des Artistes unis pour Norbert Zongo, Smockey, a justifié le sens de leur participation, qui n’est pas liée à une question de perdiems, encore moins à une volonté manifeste de se mettre en valeur à l’orée de la date anniversaire des 10 ans de l’assassinat du journaliste. « Nous ne voulons pas que le dossier sombre, car c’est tout simplement inacceptable. Nous ressentons aussi comme tout le monde cette soif de justice et de vérité. Tous les artistes ont participé donc sans condition ; et tout s’est passé dans une bonne ambiance », a-t-il dit.

1000 CD ont été confectionnés et seront vendus à 2500 FCFA l’unité. Abdoulaye Diallo du CNP-NZ fera remarquer que les fonds issus de la vente seront destinés à la construction d’une stèle à la mémoire de Norbert, puisque la première, érigée sur la route de Sapouy, a été emportée par le bitumage de la voie. Un clip est également en cours de réalisation par Gédéon Vink tandis qu’un stand pour la promotion de l’album a été ouvert au village des Nuits atypiques de Koudougou.

La mère de Norbert Zongo a remercié les artistes pour leur soutien. Tout en leur prodiguant des bénédictions, elle a émis le vœu qu’aucun malheur ne leur arrive. Signalons que, dans le cadre des activités du 10e anniversaire du drame de Sapouy, les Artistes unis pour Norbert Zongo donneront un concert le 13 décembre 2008 à 10h30 à la Place de la nation.
